Position Description
As a Software Engineer at CGI, you will be responsible for providing L2/L3 support for Java-based applications in both production and non-production environments. You’ll monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance application performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and reliable operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 support for Java-based applications in production and non-production environments.
- Monitor application performance and availability using tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, service requests, and application issues within defined SLAs.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and support teams to identify root causes and implement fixes.
- Perform regular health checks, log analysis, and proactive maintenance activities.
- Participate in deployment activities including release validations and rollback planning.
- Maintain documentation for support procedures, known issues, and resolutions.
- Ensure compliance with ITIL processes — including incident, problem, and change management.
- Support batch jobs, integrations, and middleware components as needed.
Required Skills
- Java – Proficient in core and enterprise-level development.
- SQL – Strong understanding of database concepts and query optimization.
- Analytical Thinking – Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues efficiently.
