About the Team

What You’ll Do

• Work on cross-functional projects, directly collaborating with other engineers.
• Give meaningful feedback on code reviews and technical designs.
• Ensure systems your team operates continue running well and can scale to meet user needs.
• Build the skills to own a project from beginning to end, learning project management and technical leadership along the way.

Who You Are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these, we encourage you to apply — preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science (or related field) by Summer 2026, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience and familiarity with programming through side projects or coursework.
• Experience collaborating on multi-person coding projects (in academic or professional settings).
• Ability to learn unfamiliar systems through independent research and mentorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialized knowledge in one or more areas (e.g., frontend technologies, backend systems, distributed systems).
• Experience with code review practices and safely updating production systems.
• Familiarity with navigating and managing large codebases.
• Knowledge of languages like Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, or Go.

In-Office Expectations

Office-assigned Stripes in most locations are expected to spend at least 50% of their time in the local office or with users. In Bengaluru, India, Stripe Delivery Center roles work 100% from the office. This balance supports in-person collaboration and learning, while maintaining flexibility where possible.
