Role Overview

As a Software Development Engineer (SDE-1) at Karanwal Capital, you’ll design, develop, and deploy high-performance, low-latency trading systems. Your work will directly impact our trading strategies, partnering closely with quantitative researchers and traders to bring innovative ideas to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Develop: Build and maintain core trading infrastructure, data pipelines, and research tools.
• Optimize for Performance: Write clean, efficient, and highly optimized code in Python and/or C++ for low-latency execution.
• Collaborate: Work closely with quants and traders in an agile setup to implement trading models.
• Data Management: Create systems to process and analyze large-scale market datasets.
• Own the Lifecycle: Oversee the complete software lifecycle—from ideation and testing to deployment and maintenance.
• Innovate: Stay updated with the latest tech trends and propose system improvements.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Haves

• Strong grasp of Data Structures, Algorithms, and OOP principles.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or Go.
• Logical and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Redis).
• Comfortable working on Linux/Unix systems and using Git.

Good-to-Haves (Bonus Skills)

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes.
• Exposure to financial markets or algorithmic trading.
• Familiarity with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka) and multithreading.
