Job Summary

As a Software Engineer I at Porch Group, you will join a collaborative, cross-functional team focused on building scalable systems to extract, process, and deliver property data. This is a great opportunity for early-career engineers who are eager to learn, grow, and contribute to real-world product development in a remote-first culture.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to extract property attributes using regex, LLMs, and other techniques.
• Develop and maintain backend services with clean, well-tested code following Porch Engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to learn from senior team members.
• Take ownership of defined tasks, communicate progress, and deliver on time.
• Gain hands-on experience with microservices and cloud infrastructure.
• Follow established frameworks while building your technical judgment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 0–2 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency with SQL (preferably PostgreSQL).
• Experience with a production JVM language (preferably Scala).
• Familiarity with data science concepts, labeling, or information extraction.
• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, AWS/GCP, or CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Residing within 150 km of Delhi NCR, Bangalore, or Pune.
• Ability to work during core US business hours (EST overlap).
• Stable workspace with at least 30 Mbps download | 10 Mbps upload speed.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: ₹656,000 – ₹918,000 annually (based on experience, skills, and location).
